Growing Pains

Have you ever heard of the expression, sink or swim? Sure you have. It's considered to be one of the widest sayings used to motivate someone to excel beyond the minimal effort given towards a task. Imagine adopting this form of thinking to all of life's situations. Survive or don't, whether you're doing it by way of walking or crawling, bearing absolute determination.

There can be so much surrounding our decision making that sometimes we become lost in traveling from point A to point B. I can attest to this as I find myself in unexpected situations. Some things that I've had to face in life have literally knocked me off my rocker. There was a way out but my fears and emotions took such a toll on me that my vision was obscured. Imagine beginning a path but as you continue to walk, a great deal of fog approaches that now hinders your ability to see your journey's end. Then what seemed to be already hard, soon appears to be an almost impossible conquest because of what begins to unfold internally. What causes us to assume the worst outcome first, even when we've previously made it through various trials? In different stages of life we deal with different circumstances. A five year olds playground troubles appear as mountains to a five year old, but with parental guidance and experience, the elder is able to comfort them and explain how to deal with the issue and most importantly, that it won't last always. This applies to adolescence, pre-teens, teenagers, and adults. Our paths are straight until it's time for us to elevate and then we come upon steepness where more strength needs to be applied. In my times of growth, it wasn't until I got to the point where there was no other option for me but to complete the journey in which I had set upon, that I was endowed to keep going, not until the fog passed, but I passed through it. Sure there is the option to stop your mobility, but when you're determined, not even fear can be a prevailing hindrance.

What tasks are you currently facing that appear to be impossible? I implore you to see beyond the fog and think back on previous life experiences that appeared to be insurmountable but yet was as the wall of Gideon, it came down.  Growing isn't always about age but it is often related to maturity, whether it is natural or spiritual. We have to get to a place where life's travels don't become our stopping point, but our PRESSING point towards a higher level. Begin to tailor God's word to your experience and walk with the assurity that you're coming through better than when you started.

Be encouraged,

Davina
