While searching for something to watch on Netflix, I just happened, you can say, to come across a documentary called Sewing Hope. It depicts the life of Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe and her love for escaped girls from Ghana who were forced to fight in the rebellion. These girls and women have horrifying stories of their capture and the torture that they had to endure while being held captive. Some, probably never thinking that they would ever see a friendly face again, found one with Sis Rosemary.
Her life has been dedicated to training and teaching these brave young girls and women a trade that not only benefits them, their families, and their communities but us as well. Through Sewing Hope, we're now able to help restore some aspect of their lives by purchasing one of their tailor made items online at sewinghope.com (click the above photo to be carried to the site).
Please visit www.sewinghope.com to view what the astounding women and girls of Ghana are doing and don't forget to spread the word!
