The Natural Glow

I'm always looking for ways to replace my chemicalized products with something more naturally organic. And with this new wave of social media tutorials, its become a breeze. Recently, I've become interested in body scrubs so I decided to try and make my own. After reading a few articles and looking at a few vlogs, I discovered that the basic ingredients were primarily the same. Some organic sugar, water, and your choice of essential oil. Below you can see exactly what I used to make mine. It was pretty simple and quick to make and the results were absolutely amazing.
After doing my dry scrub, I got into the shower and continued with the scrubbing but now, with my organic body scrub. My skin felt so soft afterwards, even after following it up with some organic body wash.

So if you're trying to save a penny and can appreciate knowing exactly what you're putting on your body, then this will be great for you. There are plently of new entrepreneurs out there making a splash by providing us with less processed products that prove harsh on our skin. So do your research and enjoy creating something wonderful of your own.

Don't forget to like and share!

How Healthy Are You

Often when discussing our health we neglect the topic of our mental health. How beneficial can it really be for us to be physically fit but mentally debilitated. When we're mentally exhausted due to stress, depression, or anxiety it's our responsibility to discover the root in order to begin the healing process.

Just like people go year to year being physically sick, the same is with the mind. "We often neglect what we can't noticeably see."

Mental health is sometimes looked upon as the thing that we all know we need to have a fully functioning life, but don't want to address because of what others may assume about us. But honestly, I don't know one person who hasn't endured something emotionally or physically that didn't have a mental toll on them. Even in sickness, especially a life threatening one, can cause all kinds of mental and emotional strain. So although our top priority is to remedy what's causing us immediate pain, it's in the mind where calm is needed in order to process the information received and how to deal with it rationally.

So although much can be said concerning our mental well being, we can all acknowledge that the very first step that can be taken is a mental examination.  Sit with yourself and face what's been ailing you because you're not well unless all of you is well, mind, body, and spirit. In some instances, prayer can be the most effective tool in acknowledging what has been bothering you and releasing it to God by speaking your concerns and leaving them in His hands with thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God." I underlined thanksgiving because in my own personal experiences, thanking Him triggers a release. It's also a way of saying I trust you with every facet of my being so I"m thanking you in advance.

I hope this helped someone. Please, like, share, and follow.

Rise & Shine

So this morning I started things off with my normal glass of water but then went on to enjoy some awesome ginger tea. If you've ever had it, you know how absolutely rejuvenating ginger tea can be. If you didn't already know, ginger tea has a lot of health benefits starting with giving your digestive system a jump start. Ginger is a flowering plant that is widely used as a spice or medicine. It's composed of water, protein, carbohydrates, and a small amount of fat. What makes it good for the digestive system is its phenolic (carbolic acid)  properties.

I made my ginger tea with some apple cider vinegar, lemon, ginger, and parsley. Parsley you ask, yes! I'm loving this new wave of GREEN where we're getting back to plant life and incorporating more natural elements to heal and restore our natural bodies.

Whatever your morning routine includes, you may want to consider adding this one to it. Take some time to research some of the foods that you consume on a regular basis. You may find that you need to add to or take away some things. Although natural foods are excellent for you, it can interfere with certain medications. You should always seek advise from your physician before altering your diet when you have medical concerns.

Blessings!

The 3 R's ~Relax Relate Release

It isn't impossible to have all three. I know when you see them, the first thing that comes to mind is the episode on A Different World, where the character Dr. Langhorne played by Debbie Allen alongside Whitley Gilbert played by Jasmine Guy has a therapy session where she advises Whitley to relax, relate, and release. It still cracks me up at the thought. But now that I'm a little older I can totally relate to it. So as I prepared to soak in a hot bath with organic apple cider vinegar (to  get rid of toxins; ACV is rich in natural vitamins, enzymes, and minerals), orange peels (for the aroma), and black soap, I thought about how much I needed to relax my mind, relate to whatever emotions I was currently carrying around, and release every negative thought that was plaguing me.

So whether it's at the beginning of your day or the end, take some time to indulge in the three R's and add one more...rejuvenate.
